THE PROCESS:
No matter who builds your website, these are the steps you must take:

Determine what benefits you expect from your website
- Some examples to consider are save printing costs, save postage and packaging, increase sales response times, increase staff productivity by reducing phone queries and increase sales prospects even when your office is closed.

Choose a unique name for your website and have it registered
- You need a website ‘domain’ name and should have this in place before you build your website. If you don’t have a website name Local First can register your domain name for only $9.00 per year. Domain names are free to paying Local First members. You can use the "Domain lookup" feature that is located at the top of all of our pages to see if your desired domain name is available.

Choose where you want your website to operate (“hosting”)
- You should have a hosting package that is configured for use with your domain name before you build your website. If you don’t have a hosting package Local First offers feature rich, inexpensive and worry-free hosting packages that allow you to focus on your business.

Translate your business requirements into a website specification
- You need to establish what you want to present on your website and how you want to present it. You will need the following items for an accurate design.
  - Determine the number of pages you want and the menu titles (About Us, Contact Us, Services, etc.)
  - Create the body text for each page that you want to present.
  - Determine the images and pictures that you want to present (building, equipment, staff photos, etc)

Determine how you will maintain and update your website
- Once your website is visible you have the ability to react in real time when you want to offer new promotions, change contact information and react to ever changing market conditions. You will need to have someone within your company knowlageable about desiging and maintaining your web files or establish an ongoing relationship with an experienced, reliable and responsive company like Local First to manage any changes that you need for your site.

OPTION INCLUDED WITH A LOCAL FIRST HOSTING ACCOUNT:
At Local First we offer a number of tools on your control panel that help you design, manage and market your site yourself. These tools are available to Local First members with a free Premium hosting account or on our Standard and Premium purchased hosting accounts. PAGE TYPES:
There are 8 types of web pages used in our website templates. Some template categories have specific page types, based on the likely need of that vertical market. For example, a restaurant will likely need a menu page, while an artist would probably desire a portfolio gallery. Following are the 8 types of web pages, and their general uses, that may be found in our templates.

Home Page
- First page with a description, brief statements, possibly promotional marketing

About Us
- Mission statement, business strategies, personal biography, organizational info

Services
- Description of the services that are offered with brief explanation of service

Products, Gallery, Portfolio
- List of products with accompanying images and descriptions (limited number - see details below under "What you see is what you get")

News, Press Releases
- Press releases, white papers, published news articles

Employment, Careers, Jobs
- Career opportunities descriptions, criteria, submission method

Links
- Up to 20 external links

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET:
There are no free page type substitutions. If a hairdresser desires to use a restaurant template but wants to substitute the menu page for a services page, the services page is an extra charge (we will provide you a quote) and the menu page is discarded.

Number of Images
- The number of images that can be placed on each page (except Products, Gallery or Portfolio) is defined by the number of existing image placeholders in each template. Adding extra images or additional pages with additional images, will incur an additional charge.
  The Products, Gallery, and Portfolio pages include up to 10 images, with each image accompanied by a description of up to 500 characters, including spaces.

Editing included at no charge during your final website review
- Changing images (up to 5 discreet occurrences)
  - Replacing an image of equal size in, or under, the header.
  - Relocating images on a page or from one page to another.
  - Inserting a standalone image – one that is not integrated into the website design or layout.

Customizing menu (up to 3 discreet occurrences)
- - Changing the label in an HTML navigation menu button – excludes changing the number of buttons and excludes Flash buttons.
  - All navigation buttons are fully interoperable and consistent across all pages in the website.

Changing text (up to 10 discrete occurrences)

Changing any element in a template’s Cascading Style sheet (CSS) (up to 10 discreet elements)
